From Cake Smash to Newborn Cuddles: Welcoming Baby Luciana
This family travelled from Burton-on-Trent for their session, just ten minutes from my studio. That always makes me smile, because it means I get to watch families like theirs grow, session after session, without them ever having to go far to do it.
And grow is exactly what this family has done. A couple of years ago, this same family came to me for their daughter Alba’s cake smash, and it was an absolute joy. Alba was, and still is, full of character from head to toe. So when they got back in touch to book their newborn session, I was thrilled. This time, Alba came along too, ready and excited to introduce me to her brand new baby sister.

Meet Luciana
Alba hasn’t changed one bit. She’s still that same full-on character, keeping everyone entertained and on their toes. Her baby sister Luciana, on the other hand, turned out to be the most wonderfully easy newborn: milk drunk, sleepy, and thoroughly greedy in the best possible way. The whole session flowed beautifully because of her.
While I worked with Luciana, Alba was in her element helping with all the little studio jobs, playing with the toys, watching a bit of Netflix and, of course, making her way through every snack on offer. Having an older sibling this happy and involved always makes for such a relaxed, joyful atmosphere in the studio.

We came away with some genuinely gorgeous family photographs that captured this family’s personality perfectly, plus some beautiful sibling shots with both girls smiling at the same time. Anyone who’s photographed two young children together knows exactly how special a win that is.
A Gallery to Treasure
Mum was completely over the moon with her images, and she looked incredible in every single one of them.
As with every session this family has booked with me, they chose to add wall art to complement their photographs. It’s a beautiful way to keep these memories alive and on display at home, rather than just tucked away on a hard drive, and it’s such an honour that they choose to invest in that with me time and time again. They also went for my top package this time, giving them access to every image from the session along with all of the extra perks that come with it.

A Family Spread Across the World
This family has relatives on the other side of the world, and in the days after their session, I had the joy of watching the comments roll in on social media from family members who couldn’t be there in person. Clicking translate on each one, it was so clear just how much love surrounds this family, wherever they are in the world. Being able to share these images with people so far away, and have them feel just as connected to the moment, is one of the parts of this job I treasure most.
The day after their viewing session, another member of this family got in touch with me directly. She’s due next month and wanted to know more about booking her own session, asking about packages and pricing. There’s honestly no better compliment than a family recommending me to the people they love most, and I can’t wait to welcome her to the studio too.
If you’re a growing family thinking about a newborn or family session, or simply want to see how you could bring your own images to life with wall art, I’d love to hear from you.
