Why Every Mum Deserves to Be in the Photos

As a busy Mum, I am totally guilty of not being in photos with the kids as I’m frantically trying to
make sure that there are no messy faces, tidy hair and ironed clothes, basically that they look
presentable and not feral!

But, I know as a family photographer, and I’m always telling people this, that years from now, our
children won’t care whether their hair was perfect, their matching outfits were ironed to perfection
or their faces were clean, they will just want to see cherished photos with you in them.

I always think hard about what I would like in a photograph and then try to gather this all together
to make it something amazing for you, as clients. That’s exactly why my Mummy & Me Sessions
are returning this June and this year, they’ll be set amongst the most beautiful giant daisies in a
hidden little gem just five minutes from my studio in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

I Can Hear You Asking….Why Should I Choose An Outdoor Mummy
& Me Session?

Well for me, there’s something incredibly relaxed and natural about outdoor sessions. Children can
explore, cuddle in close, run barefoot through the flowers and simply be themselves. Without the
pressure of a formal studio setup, outdoor sessions often feel more like a memory being made than a
photoshoot. I can take candid images or posed or a mixture of both, whatever it is that you prefer.

The giant daisies create the dreamiest backdrop – soft, timeless and full of English summer magic
(and hopefully not typical English summer weather!) And unlike bluebells, which can disappear
almost overnight depending on the weather, the daisies stay beautiful throughout June, making them
a much more reliable option for families wanting to book and more flexibility on when to book too.

The location itself is such a hidden gem too. Quiet, peaceful and full of gorgeous natural light, it’s
one of my favourite spots for creating those soft, heartfelt images that families will treasure forever.

our camera rolls that never get printed, framed or passed down. These are the kind of luxury,

Because as Mums, we are such a huge part of our children’s story (funny that!). WE deserve to have

whoever they’re with but to have the opportunity to just have some photos of me and my children
is, in my eyes, priceless. And whilst phone photos absolutely have their place, they so often just stay
hidden on screens or get lost amongst thousands of other images. Professional photographs deserve
to live in your home, on your walls, in albums, in frames on the bedside table.

You Don’t Need To Wait For “Perfection”

They become proof that you were there too. So, don’t be sat on the sidelines waiting for everything
to feel ‘perfect’, sometimes there are perfect imperfections and that’s ALRIGHT! Your children
already think that you’re perfect and that’s what matters the most! They won’t notice the things you
worry about. They’ll notice your smile, the way you held them close, the way you looked at them.
